There is more than honey in honey

Director message - Director message

Dear Champiteans,

My colleagues and I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a sparkling New Year.
At the School's traditional Christmas Market, you can buy honey produced by our bees from the educational hive located on campus!

These jars of honey are educational treasures:
Reconnecting with nature: the best way to combat addiction to screens, social media fatigue and seasonal depression.
Curiosity and observation: a naturally curious student is a ‘saved’ student in the sense that he or she is preparing for a lifetime of acquiring knowledge and experiences. Observing nature also means, for the chemistry of the brain, placing oneself in the slow and long time frame that the digital world deprives us of.
Studying the hive and the life of bees brings the real world into the classroom, giving a practical context to learning and meaning to what is being studied.
This study also brings multidisciplinarity to the curriculum: it requires observation and note-taking, research in biology, geography, economics, physics (the flight of bees), chemistry, etc.

The joy of learning is cultivated by observing this miracle of biological life, which we can marvel at every year.
In short, there is a whole educational universe in honey. Merry Christmas!
