SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULA

OUR SECONDARY SCHOOL IN SWITZERLAND
At Collège Champittet, our secondary school programme is divided into two stages.
- Grades 9-10 (middle school): Students either follow our bilingual French-English pathway or the pre-International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in English.
- Grades 11-14 (high school): Students choose to study either the Anglophone IBDP, the Francophone French Baccalaureat, or the bilingual Swiss Maturité. All three of our international high school programmes are academically rigorous and rooted in Swiss standards of excellence, and our teaching approach encourages students to be inquisitive and gain a global perspective.

A CHOICE OF THREE HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Whichever diploma programme your child chooses, we’ll make sure they receive the guidance they need to map out their future. This includes help to apply for top universities in Switzerland and across the world, and expert career counselling from Grade 9 onwards.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (IBDP)

THE FRENCH BACCALAUREAT
The French Baccalaureat is highly prized by the best French-speaking universities. Students study several core subjects, including history, geography, citizenship, modern languages, philosophy, and sport, as well as selecting options aligned with their strengths and aspirations. The French Bac demands a high level of spoken and written French.

THE SWISS MATURITÉ
Students work towards the Swiss Maturité from Grade 9 through to Grade 12. Subjects are split into two categories: a mix of humanities, sciences, and arts, alongside languages, maths, and two optional elements. A truly bilingual programme, the Swiss Maturité is a direct springboard to select Swiss universities.

how we teach
Our world-class secondary and high school teachers will use their wealth of qualifications and experience to support, engage, and inspire excellence in your child.

MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION AND SUPPORT
A high level of French is required to study either the Swiss Maturité or French Baccalaureat, while a higher level of English is needed for the IB Diploma. Whichever programme they choose, we’ll encourage your child to hone their language skills, either through our English as an Additional Language (EAL) or Français Langue Étrangère (FLE) programme.
Our FLE programme is designed to help students to become confident French communicators within a year.
