The crunch of stepping on crisp leaves, the cool outdoor air… autumn is a magical season of change, and we’ve been making the most of it here at Collège Champittet!
On October 29th, our Champittet students from preschool to Grade 4 celebrated the season’s spirit in our Autumn Party. Our young learners enjoyed autumnal snacks and participated in a variety of activities and games.
To begin with, each student drew a card indicating a possible weight for the pumpkin. The verdict: it weighed 11 kg. Then, our students split into their House teams to complete an autumnal treasure hunt. Each House focused on collecting the autumn-themed object assigned to their team: acorns for the Wolves, pumpkins for the Lynx, chestnuts for the Bears, and pinecones for the Eagles.
Our Autumn Party kept participants on their feet with a round of musical statues. Dance while the music plays, but make sure to listen for when the music stops – and freeze like a statue!
In addition, our students in Grade 1 enjoyed the chance to experience the season on two nature outings.
In nearby Chalet-à-Gobet, our young learners explored the forest, observing the autumnal colours and appreciating the natural landscape. On a separate trip, we visited peaceful Lake Sauvabelin, where our students looked for the first signs of autumnal changes in the environment.
From outdoor adventures to the fun of our Autumn Party on campus, we’re delighted to celebrate autumn with our students – and to mark the start of an exciting new term!
