Our new Early Years Centre, The Village, opened its doors in August 2025! With six bright and cheerful classrooms, in-classroom toilets, a lunchroom, childcare spaces and direct playground access, The Village is inspired by our play-based learning approach. This dynamic, engaging environment aims to nurture the developmental, social and emotional needs of children aged 3 to 6, providing a superb start to their education.
Collège Champittet Primary Director, Geraldine Boland explains, “The Village has been specially designed for our youngest students: calm, tailored to their needs, and providing a real cocoon for their well-being.” Located at the heart of our campus, this dedicated Early Years Centre represents a major addition to our learning facilities.
At Collège Champittet, we know that it takes a village to raise a child, which is we’ve built The Village to foster a sense of community and belonging among our preschoolers. From stimulating indoor play areas to the outdoor adventures of our Forest School, our Early Years environment encourages children to grow as active learners.
Our Preschool Director Sabrina Bariswyl observes, “After months of reflection, collaboration and work, The Village is finally coming to life, already buzzing with the voices, laughter and curiosity of our youngest learners. Every corner of the classroom becomes a place of exploration, every smile a promise. The children take ownership of their environment with disarming naturalness, as if they have always belonged here.”
We are thrilled by the joy of our youngest Champittet learners and the positive feedback from our families: “As a parent, I am really delighted with the new Village school building. It is a warm, bright place that is perfectly suited to young children. My child feels comfortable there, enjoys learning, and leaves for school every morning with a smile on their face. You can tell that everything has been designed with their well-being and development in mind. Well done to the whole team for this wonderful project!”
Another family highlights the accessibility of the playground and expresses joy in seeing their child learn and explore with enthusiasm every day.
