Our Middle School Curricula
Unique to our Middle School in Geneva, we offer our 11 to 14-year-olds a choice of three programmes: Anglophone, Francophone, and Bilingual. Each one is carefully designed to support students in their transition from Primary to Secondaire I, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in High School and Secondaire II.
Our Francophone programme is based on the French National Curriculum, while our Anglophone programme follows the academic standards of the Cambridge International Curriculum, particularly in Mathematics and English. Our Bilingual programme is a bespoke pathway that brings together the strengths of both educational approaches.
This carefully designed structure ensures a rigorous and internationally minded education, aligned with global academic expectations. The Middle School and Secondaire I programmes provide students with a strong foundation, preparing them to confidently pursue the full range of qualifications available at Collège du Léman in Secondaire II and High School.

WHAT IS THE METACOGNITIVE APPROACH IN MIDDLE SCHOOL?
In Middle School Secondaire, we develop our students’ metacognitive skills — in other words, their ability to reflect on how they learn. Strengthened by the expertise and collaboration of educators across the Nord Anglia network, and integrated into our teaching for several years, it enables students to better understand their learning strategies, identify their strengths and progressively become more independent learners.
Through reflective activities, interdisciplinary projects and personalised support, students learn to plan their work, analyse their thinking and evaluate their progress. They develop essential skills that enable them to become creative, critical, commited, curious, compassionate and collaborative learners. This approach helps them build confidence, refine their learning strategies and succeed across all subjects, while preparing them to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
