MIDDLE & UPPER SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Students start their Secondary education with Middle School - Key Stage 3, beginning their preparation for IGCSE exams, taken at the end of Key Stage 4. Their learning is based on the English National Curriculum.

EDUCATION STAGES

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL - KEY STAGE 3 | 11-14 years old
    From Year 7 to Year 9 
  • UPPER SCHOOL - KEY STAGE 4 | 14-16 years old
    Year 10 and 11
In Year 9, students begin the options process, choosing their specific IGCSE pathway from a wide range of subjects studied over the subsequent two years. Their studies at Key Stage 4 culminate in exams taken at the end of Year 11.

KEY STAGE 4 CURRICULUM

Key Stage 4 is a two‑year IGCSE programme, culminating in examinations taken by students at the end of Year 11, at the age of 16.

IGCSE

WHAT IS IGCSE?

IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is globally recognised qualification set by British examining boards sat by the Secondary students at the end of Year 11.

 

WHAT IGCSE EXAMS ARE TAKEN AT TBS WARSAW?

The IGCSE exam boards we opt for are Cambridge International Education, Edexcel and AQA.

 

HOW DOES THE EXAMINATION PROCESS LOOK?

Secondary students take exams from the end of April until mid-June. IGCSEs are externally accessed and the results are available at the end of August.

 

HOW ARE IGCSE EXAMS GRADED?

The IGCSE exams are graded from 9 to 1. Grades 9-4 are considered high level passes.

In year 9, students begin choosing their IGCSE options from available subjects. To support the best curriculum choices, we offer our support through this difficult decision-making process.
