Our students travelled to Dadai and Huanggang Villages in Congjiang County, Guizhou, to take part in a meaningful Social Impact service experience focused on community connection, cultural learning, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This trip centred around our whole-school Clothing and Toys Drive, where the NAIS Pudong community generously donated hundreds of warm clothing items and a large selection of toys. Our students personally delivered these donations to children and families in the villages, support that is especially valuable as winter in Guizhou can be very cold and access to suitable clothing is limited.

During the trip, students took part in an interactive village scavenger hunt, designed to help them understand how local families live, the traditions of the Dong minority community, and the challenges faced in rural areas. They also visited a traditional 18th-generation silversmith, where they created their own personalised silver decorations while learning about the importance of craftsmanship, heritage, and sustainable livelihoods.

The experience concluded with cultural sharing activities, reflection sessions, and opportunities to connect with local families. Students returned with a deeper understanding of empathy, community, and responsible action, linking their learning directly to SDGs such as No Poverty, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Quality Education.

This journey left our students inspired, grateful, and motivated to continue making a positive difference in the world.
