We are proud to share an important milestone in the journey of Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong. NAIS Pudong has been officially accredited by NEASC, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

On Thursday 5 December, our classrooms were once again filled with excited families as we hosted our Term 1 Showcase. This much-loved event invited parents into school to learn more about their child’s progress and to experience the vibrant learning taking place across Early Years, Primary and, for the first time, Secondary. 

Returning to Rugby School Thailand for a second consecutive year, our Tigers delivered a tournament defined by resilience, growth and belief, finishing with three hard-earned victories against strong international competition.

A proud and uplifting end to Term 1, our first Principal’s Award Assembly celebrated students from Year 1 to Year 13 who truly embodied our value of Confident.

Our students travelled to Dadai and Huanggang Villages in Congjiang County, Guizhou, to take part in a meaningful Social Impact service experience focused on community connection, cultural learning, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In an education system that often directs attention towards the highest achievers and those who need the most support, the learners in the middle can sometimes be overlooked – not intentionally, but simply because they seem to be managing well.

At Nord Anglia International School Pudong, we remain committed to ensuring every child experiences a clear and purposeful learning journey. This month, we were delighted to officially launch our new Primary Skills Framework, a major development designed to strengthen clarity, consistency and connection across Reading, Writing and Mathematics. The framework was introduced to families during our recent Tuesday Talk, where parents attended a dedicated presentation and received their own copy of the accompanying booklet.

This week we were delighted to kick off our first Tuesday Talk of the year by welcoming Sophia, Head of Digital Product Design at Disney, for an inspiring session with our Year 10 to Year 13 students.

Learning a new language takes time, confidence and the right guidance. In this video, two of our students share how far they have come since joining our EAL programme. Their progress is already clear and we are incredibly proud of them.

Back in October, Happy performed in the opening production of the Youth Section China Shanghai International Arts Festival with his musical theatre troupe. And Alina has had an incredible year of sport, filled with standout performances and inspiring determination.

We are pleased to share that four of our Year 10 and Year 11 students, Michelle, Eashan, Charlie, and Linus, represented NAIS Pudong at an Oxbridge Preparation Day hosted by our sister school, BISS Puxi, on November 10.

Our Social Impact students lived the journey of rice, hand-harvesting grains and learning how eco-farming protects our soil.

In today’s interconnected world, English is more than a subject on the timetable. It is a global tool for communication, access and opportunity. The ability to use English fluently touches every part of a young person’s life: academic success, social confidence and future career prospects. Organisations such as the British Council have documented how English can drive economic and educational opportunity across countries, making language learning a strategic investment for families and schools alike.

What an incredible night! More than 400 guests joined us on Sunday, 9 November for our Bonfire and Chinese Lantern Party at NAIS Pudong.

Aomi represented our school with distinction at this year’s SISAC Division 1 Tennis Competition, hosted at Concordia. She entered the tournament fully aware of the high level of competition awaiting her and rose to the challenge with determination and composure.

During Enrichment Week, our Year 8 and 9 students embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Huangshan, filled with discovery, teamwork, and service learning.

Our Year 6 and 7 adventurers had an incredible Enrichment Week exploring the stunning coastal regions of Fujian Province with Wild China Education. They immersed themselves in marine ecology, local culture, and environmental conservation across Luoyuan and Pingtan.

After a summer of dedicated training, our swim team launched into the first round of this year's SSL season with remarkable confidence and determination.
