General Information about Flu Vaccine

Dear Parent/Guardian

The best way to keep our students healthy during the flu season is to immunize them against the influenza virus.

Although we do encourage you to consider a vaccination of your child/ your children, the British School of Beijing will unfortunately not be able to organize the vaccination for our students this year. However, if you would like your child/ your children to be vaccinated against this year’s influenza virus, you can find some general information regarding this year’s vaccination below.

Amongst many others, the following hospitals and clinics offer this year’s vaccination against H. influenzae (Influenza virus):

1.Oasis International Hospital （Weekend Appointment Available）

Offers: Hualan Biological Tetravalent Flu Vaccine（made in China）

Price: 353 CNY (patient ≥ 3 years), 500 -610 CNY (patient < 3 years)

Note：

• Children < 3 years need a doctor appointment to decide, whether your child will need 1 dose or 2 doses.
• The price is approx. 500 for 1 dose, 610 CNY for 2 doses.

2. Beijing United Family Hospital （Weekend Appointment Available）

Offers: Sanofi Trivalent Flu Vaccine（made in France）

• Children < 3 years need a doctor appointment.
• The consultation fee for newly registered patients is about 1700 CNY, for (previously) registered patients it is about 1100 CNY.

Offers: Sinovac Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine（made in China ）

Price: 128 CNY

Note：

• No vaccine for children < 3 years old at present.
• Free flu vaccine is not available yet.
• No need to book appointment in advance.
• Not offer English service.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• If you have been vaccinated against any other illnesses recently, please contact the hospital customer service to make sure how long you need to wait for administering the flu vaccine safely.
• When bringing your child to the hospital for vaccination, please do not forget to also bring the vaccine book, a valid identity certificate or passport and (in case your child is insured) the valid insurance card.
