Head of Secondary Inclusion
The first week of December marks Inclusive Schools Week, a global celebration of inclusive education and the belief that every child deserves to feel valued and supported. At Northbridge International School Cambodia, our diverse community makes this week especially meaningful. It’s a time to reflect on how we create an environment where every student—regardless of ability, background, or identity—can thrive.
This year’s theme, Children First, draws inspiration from the Maasai greeting Casserian Engeri, which asks, “And how are the children?” This powerful question reminds us that true success goes beyond academics. It challenges us to consider whether every child feels seen, heard, and respected.
Why Inclusivity Matters
Our school community represents a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, abilities, and perspectives. Inclusivity isn’t just an ideal—it’s essential. When we remove barriers and embrace diversity, we strengthen belonging and improve learning outcomes for all students.
Putting Children First in Practice
Putting children first means designing classrooms, systems, and relationships that celebrate individual strengths. It means treating equity and access as foundational, not optional. At Northbridge, we commit to listening with intention, acting with compassion, and valuing every voice in our community.
As we celebrate Inclusive Schools Week, we reaffirm our promise: to create a school where every child feels included, supported, and empowered to succeed.
