Frequently asked questions

  • How long does the admissions process take?
From the moment you get in touch with us to the offer of a place, our admissions process can – in some cases – take only a few days. Timings do vary, though, as each family’s application journey is different. Please speak to our admissions team to find out more.
  • Will my child need to sit an entrance assessment?
Regents is a non-selective school, which means prospective students don’t need to pass an exam to join us. However, we do ask every child to sit an age-appropriate assessment. This helps us to understand individual learning needs and preferences, and determine the level of support we need to provide.
  • Can my child start at any time?
We accept applications all year round and – with the exception of students joining us in Years 10-13 – your child can start at any time during the academic year. Please get in touch with our admissions team to discuss your options.
  • How will you help my child settle in?
We know how important it is for your child to get off to a great start. We’ll send you plenty of information ahead of your child’s start date. Your child will also be allocated a ‘buddy’, a current student who will show them the ropes, answer any questions, and make them feel at home. They’ll also make sure your child is included at break and lunchtimes, and help them integrate into new friendship groups.
  • What’s included in your tuition fees?
Our school fees include the cost of tuition and most co-curricular activities.
  • Do you offer boarding?

Yes, we offer boarding for 8 to 18-year-olds (Years 3-13). This includes occasional, part-, and full-time options. We also offer taster sessions.

Our safe, secure, and happy boarding environment is a place where each child gets the care, support, and attention they need to thrive. It’s also a place where friendships, academic support, and exciting learning experiences are available every day.

  • What nationalities are represented at Regents?
Everyone is welcome at our school. We’re proud of our diverse community, which is currently home to students, parents, and teachers from more than 50 countries.
  • What curriculum do you teach?

We teach a blend of British and international curricula. This includes an unparalleled choice of subjects at IGCSE, A-level, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). We’re also one of a select few schools in Thailand to offer a choice between A-levels and the IBDP at sixth form.

  • What languages do you teach in?
The majority of our lessons are taught in English. The only exceptions are our modern foreign language classes, which include Thai, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, and French.
  • How do you support children for whom English isn’t their first language?
We offer English as an Additional Language (EAL) support for students who need extra help with their speaking, reading, and writing. This includes specialist EAL teachers who provide in-class, one-to-one, and small group support.
  • Do you have provision for children with special educational needs?
We have dedicated learning support teachers who create tailored programmes for students who need extra help. This support is personalised to each child’s needs and preferences, and includes speech and language therapy.
  • What are your academic results like?
Our tailored approach to education sees our students achieve remarkable IGCSE, A-level, and IBDP results, which are consistently above the global average.
  • Which universities do your students go to?
Our students’ outstanding A-level and IBDP success takes them to first-choice, top 100 universities in the UK, US, Europe, and Asia. Examples include University College London, the University of British Columbia, University of Edinburgh, Purdue University, and Yonsei University.
  • What qualifications do your teachers have?

Our world-class teachers are UK-qualified or equivalent and have extensive knowledge of British and international curricula.

With an average of 13 years’ experience in the classroom, our educators are adept at tailoring learning to different needs and preferences, as well as empowering students to take ownership of their entire educational experience. This not only improves academic performance, but also helps our students to think collaboratively, grow in confidence, and identify areas of interest and expertise.

  • What co-curricular activities do you offer?

At Regents, we offer a breadth of experiential activities beyond the classroom that teach our students to become leaders, creative thinkers, adventurers, and activists.

These include more than 200 co-curricular clubs, which ensure your child has every opportunity to do what they love. From sports and creative arts to science and music, our enrichment programme encourages our students to showcase their talents and pursue new passions.

  • How can I get involved in school life?

Our Parent Supporters Group is a great way to get involved in our community. They welcome new families and help them settle into the region.

We also run a programme of parental workshops, which cover topics like social media addiction and student mental health, as well as cookery classes and English lessons.

  • Do you operate a bus service?
Our school buses provide a safe, reliable pick-up and drop-off service covering six zones around Pattaya. We’ll confirm zones and pricing once we have your address. All our buses are fitted with car seats and seat belts, and our students are accompanied by a bus monitor.
  • Do your students wear a uniform?
Yes, our primary and secondary students wear a practical, comfortable uniform, which can be purchased from school. Our early years children wear their PE kit because they’re always so active!
  • Do you provide lunch?
Yes! Our in-house caterers prepare healthy school lunches every day. Lunch menus change regularly, but always include a range of Thai and Western options. We also have tuck and coffee shops where secondary students can buy sandwiches, fruit, and drinks. We’re a nut free school.
  • Where is the school located?

Regents' campus is located 10km outside of Pattaya – and just one-and-a-half hours from Bangkok.

Our full address is: Regents International School Pattaya, 33/3 Moo 1 Banglamung, Pong Chonburi, 20150, Thailand.
