On 12th June, NAIS Pudong invited parents of Early Years and Primary students to attend the Term 3 Showcase and Year 6 Graduation Ceremony.

Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong has proudly been part of the Shanghai education picture for almost 25 years and stands as China’s longest-running British international school.

With results season just around the corner - at least for our Year 13s who will get their IB grades on 6th July - the Nord Anglia INSIGHTS team have created a powerful piece which I’d encourage every parent, regardless of the age their child, to read.

This academic year NAIS has hosted 3 netball tournaments, 3 football tournaments, a volleyball tournament and a badminton tournament along with countless football, basketball and volleyball matches.

We are thrilled to announce that our school, as the first Nord Anglia School in China, has been honoured with the prestigious Silver Accreditation for Social Impact! This achievement stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of our Social Impact Committee and the remarkable efforts of our entire school community. As we reflect on this remarkable journey, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for the transformative impact we continue to make.

The Principal’s Awards are a termly event in which students are recognised for outstanding achievement and/or efforts along one of the termly values themes of either creativity, confidence or consideration.  Term 3 saw awards given by Ms Vaughan in relation to confidence, with a range of related areas in which students had demonstrated that value.

Congratulations Class of 2024! The Cap and Gown Ceremony for the Class of 2024 was a momentous occasion, marking the culmination of years of rigorous academic work, discipline, and personal growth.

We're thrilled to announce that Mr Deepak Khadka, our esteemed NAIS Global Campus Lead, has been appointed as the Regional Global Campus Lead for Nord Anglia International Schools in China.

As part of the INSIGHTS series which we’ve featured several times across the academic year, this post feels specifically well timed in today’sever-changing technological world. There is an often recurring debate across the education field related to use of mobile phones both in school and at home, and as per the featured article, I think we can all agree that while the use of technology in school should be embraced when linked to functional learning, the broad use of mobile phones for social sites and general ‘doom scrolling’ when in school should not be permitted; it’s why our school has a policy which prohibits the use of mobile phones during the school day.

Earlier last week we were privileged to be joined on campus by Julian Blissett, the General Manager of General Motors.  Julian came in to talk to students across the school about his career pathway.

We are delighted to announce details of the Summer Camp options which will be available on campus this year. We will run two separate themed options, both of which will provide NAIS Pudong and external students with a plethora of academic and fun activities for a variety of age groups.  Both camp themes aim to build on our values of developing creative, confident and considerate students who are prepared for their futures.

Our Y4, Y5 and Y6 students headed to Nantong last week to immerse themselves in three days of hands-on activities that develop practical skills and teamwork.  From fun games such as archery tag, to boat-building competitions, orienteering, survival skills, and cultural engagement, the event was built around the UN Strategic Development Goals of Quality Education (SDG4), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11), and Climate Action (SDG13).

As part of our commitment to our students as they approach some key decision-making points in their education journey, we have collaborated with some industry experts who will come into our school and deliver some inspirational and incredibly useful presentations.

Nord Anglia International School Pudong (NAIS Pudong) prides itself on offering a comprehensive Physical Education program and a variety of competitive sports teams to cater to the diverse interests and abilities of its students. The Physical Education (PE) curriculum at our school is designed to promote physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for sports and healthy living. From Early Years through to Key Stage 5 (ages 2 to 18), students engage in a wide range of activities that cater to them specifically, regardless of age, gender or ability.

March 29th saw our termly Principal’s Awards ceremony take place, with Ms Vaughan recognising deserving students from across the school as we mark the end of the second term.

Last week we embraced our status as a wide and varied international school as we celebrated all of the nationalities in International Week!  Amongst a huge variety of different activities each day, we saw students and staff taking part in cultural dances, puzzles and games, quizzes, and many more activities.

Thank you to all parents who took the time to complete our recent Parent Survey, the feedback from which is critical in helping the school to formulate action plans for the future.  This year the response was fantastic, with an almost 80% completion rate, meaning the feedback is definitive and representative of the whole school. 

The warmer spring weather is arriving in Shanghai and so what better time to confirm our next big event – the NAIS Pudong Spring Fair – which will take place on Saturday 20th April from 11am to 4pm.
