For the first time since July 2019, Nord Anglia is beyond excited to be able to bring students together in person for collaboration and exploration activities across New York City as part of the NAE-UNICEF Summit.

As we reach the end of this extraordinary school year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey we have all been through together. The challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic tested our resilience, patience, and adaptability in ways we could have never imagined. However, despite the hardships of the past three years, we have all made it through, sent our students to university, taught our children in and out of the classroom and welcomed back our youngest to the outstanding teaching and learning spaces across the campus.

The Senior Drama Club performed Dennis Kelly’s dark humoured play: DNA on the 19th June 2023; a dark and mysterious play that follows the turmoil and repercussions of a group of teenagers dealing with a prank that goes wrong. The cast were Year 9-11 students and each student took on a role that challenged and pushed them to consider the deeper emotions and trauma these characters are dealing with and the ways in which they are coping. After bullying and pranking a peer, the group believe they have accidentally killed him. The audience watch as their lies and emotions eventually take control.

As we gradually return to normality following COVID, it was wonderful to be able to open the campus to a wide range of parents as part of our Learning Showcase. The school was buzzing with activity as our whole community came together to acknowledge our students’ successes and achievements from across the year.

Through our collaboration with MIT, our STEAM programme helps students develop their creativity and problem-solving skills by tackling interdisciplinary challenges around issues facing the world today. In a remarkable achievement, two exceptional students from our school, have triumphed in the MIT Hack-the-Tube challenge.

Premium international schools organisation Nord Anglia Education today announced the launch of its all-new education podcast called Learning Explorations.

Over the past few weeks, the Social Impact Club of NAIS Pudong has been busy collaborating with the Community Center Shanghai to raise funds for schools in need of counseling and quality education. The programme aimed to promote mental health awareness for all individuals, adult or child, as well as support others as an act of pure kindness!

The culmination of Year 13’s two year IB Diploma Programme was honoured with the formal Cap and Gown graduation ceremony held in school.

As a part of the Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong community let us give our heartiest congratulations to Callum Lang for winning the 18 years and under category in the Dishui Lake Olympic distance triathlon event over the weekend. Completing a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle and 10 km run is no small feat, and we are incredibly proud of his achievement to emerge victorious.

We are excited to announce the implementation of two new programmes in our school, both of which will greatly benefit our students’ reading development: Accelerated Reader and Star Reading Assessment.

As The United Kingdom, commonwealth countries, and many diverse communities round the world prepare to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, it is poignant to reflect upon our own identity as the oldest international school in Shanghai, providing the full UK curriculum to international families for over twenty years.

To be able to use confidently more than one language truly opens doors and a world of opportunities. New places can be visited, and new friends across cultures and continents can be made. Travel, business, research, and interaction can be so much easier if you can speak the language of the people you meet. The knowledge of any foreign language not only can enrich your understanding of a culture’s history, literature, art, and music. It can promote better understanding, goodwill, and cooperation which can reinforce what unites people rather than what divides them.  .

Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong was filled with enthusiastic energy and excitement as we celebrated our 20th anniversary on Saturday 15th April. The day was filled with interactive performances, engaging activities, delicious food, and opportunities to create lasting memories.

Being an international student can be both exciting and challenging. One of the challenges you may face is adapting to a new culture and environment. This is where creativity can be particularly helpful.
