  • How do I start the application process?
    Your application journey starts with our short online enquiry form. Once we've received your form, our admissions team will get back to you within 24 hours (excluding weekends) to discuss next steps.
  • Can I visit the school?

    Yes, of course - we’d love to show you around our campus. You can book an in-person tour through our admissions team. If you can’t make it to Budapest, we’ll happily set up a one-to-one virtual discovery meeting via Microsoft Teams.

  • Do you have an application deadline?
    You can apply for a place at BISB - using our online application form - at any time during the school year (spaces permitting). Please get in touch with our admissions team to check current availability.
  • Will my child need to sit a test as part of the admissions process?

    Yes, your child will sit an assessment as part of our admissions process. This ensures we can meet their learning needs and offer the right blend of challenge and support.

    Our assessments and interviews vary depending on the age of the child, but may include class observations and English speaking, writing, and cognitive ability tests. 

    All our lessons are taught in English, which is why it’s so important that your child is sufficiently fluent. Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme helps students who need extra support.

  • What's included in your tuition fees?
    BISB's tuition fees are structured to be as inclusive as possible. They not only cover your child’s academic teaching and learning, but also include more than 100 co-curricular activities, exclusive collaborations through Nord Anglia Education, and lots of leadership and social responsibility experiences, like our Student Councils and Committees.
  • What curricula will my child follow?

    We teach the best in British and international curricula, including the English National Curriculum, IGCSEs, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

  • What qualifications do your teachers have?
    Our teachers are among the very best in the world. Every member of our team is carefully chosen; they hold UK qualified teacher status or equivalent and have a wealth of experience in British and international schools. Many have Master’s degrees and Nord Anglia Education qualifications, too.
  • Do you offer students additional support?
    We run a successful English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme for students who need extra help with their English. Our expert EAL team offer support in class and run bespoke sessions.

    We also have an Additional Educational Needs (AEN) team, which creates tailored programmes for students who need learning support.
  • What co-curricular activities do you offer?

    Our co-curricular clubs offer something for everyone, ensuring your child has the chance to do what they love.

    From sports and creative arts to languages and music, our activity programme beyond the classroom encourages students to showcase their talents and pursue new passions.

    We also offer an exciting programme of educational visits, trips, and international expeditions.

  • How will you support my child's wellbeing?
    Yes, your child’s wellbeing is our top priority. Our in-house pastoral care team – which includes counsellors and safeguarding experts – actively keep an eye on each child’s wellbeing and support those in need.

    All our teachers take part in specialist training with the world-renowned Anna Freud Centre, too, ensuring they have the knowledge to provide the right advice and guidance.
  • Do you run a bus service?
    Yes, our safe and efficient bus service can pick your child up and drop them home at the end of the day. The cost depends on where your family is based in Budapest.

  • Do you provide school lunches?
    Yes, our talented chefs prepare healthy, nutritious school lunches every day, which provide the fuel our students need to play, learn, and grow.
  • Do BISB students wear a uniform?
    Yes, our students wear a smart, contemporary, and eco-friendly school uniform. This helps to build a strong sense of community and togetherness across the age groups.
  • Do you offer after-school childcare?

    Yes, we offer after-school childcare for our early years and primary students (3:15-5:30 pm, Monday-Friday).

    Childcare is provided by our dedicated learning support team. Please note, there is a charge for this service.

  • How do you communicate with parents?

    We keep in touch with our families in a variety of ways. These include a newsletter and through social media, emails, and online platforms: Kinteract (early years), Seesaw (primary), and Firefly (secondary).

    Our teachers will update you on your child’s progress through communication books, parents’ evenings, and regular contact meetings. You can also join our friendly Parent-Teacher Association.
