Academic Excellence That Stands Above the Global Average

This year, our students achieved an average IB Diploma score of 35.2 points, significantly above the global average of 30.88 points. The strength of these results becomes even more evident when viewed alongside the aspirations of our graduates. Entry to highly selective institutions such as EPFL is exceptionally competitive, with successful IB applicants typically achieving results in the high 30s. At LCIS, more than a quarter of students achieved 40 points or above, while nearly one-third achieved 38 points or more. Pathways to Leading Universities Around the World These achievements have opened doors to an impressive range of destinations. Members of the Class of 2026 will continue their journeys at institutions including EPFL, the University of Geneva, UNIL, King's College London, University College London (UCL), Dartmouth College in the United States, Bocconi University, IPSA and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), alongside many other leading universities and specialist institutions around the world.

 

These destinations reflect not only academic success, but also the breadth of interests, talents and ambitions within the graduating class, from engineering and science to international relations, business, performance and the creative arts.

A defining strength of an LCIS education is our multilingual community. Bringing together Swiss, francophone and international families creates a rich environment where languages and cultures are part of everyday life.

 

This year's results reflect that strength, with 22% of graduates earning the prestigious IB Bilingual Diploma. This achievement recognises academic excellence in more than one language and demonstrates the intercultural understanding and adaptability that are increasingly valued by universities and employers alike.

 

The academic success of the Class of 2026 was also supported by strong performance in the core elements of the IB Diploma Programme. Students achieved an average of 2 core points through Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay, demonstrating their ability to think critically, conduct independent research and engage thoughtfully with complex questions. These experiences develop skills that extend far beyond examinations and prepare students for the demands of higher education and lifelong learning.
