BIS Hanoi welcomes Juilliard specialists to inspire learning in the performing arts

Last week, BIS Hanoi was delighted to welcome seven specialists from The Juilliard School for three days of professional learning, collaboration and creativity. The visit brought together our Performing Arts team and 30 educators from Nord Anglia Education schools across Asia, creating an inspiring opportunity to learn from world-leading experts and from one another.

During the programme, teachers took part in hands-on workshops, shared ideas and explored new approaches to teaching music and drama. The Juilliard specialists also visited classrooms, working directly with students and offering valuable insights that enriched learning experiences across the school. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the three days highlighted the power of collaboration and continuous professional growth.
This visit reflects BIS Hanoi's long-standing connection with through Nord Anglia Education's exclusive global collaboration. Through this partnership, Juilliard specialists work with teachers, provide educational resources and support the development of a performing arts curriculum that nurtures creativity, confidence and artistic expression. Students also have opportunities each year to engage directly with visiting Juilliard artists and educators through workshops, performances and classroom experiences, bringing professional insight and inspiration into their learning journey.

At BIS Hanoi, the performing arts are about far more than learning to perform on stage. Through music, drama and dance, students develop communication, collaboration, creativity and problem-solving skills that support success both inside and outside the classroom. As highlighted by BIS Hanoi's performing arts programme, the arts encourage students to take creative risks, express themselves with confidence and make meaningful connections across cultures and disciplines.

Beyond school, students can participate in unique regional and global opportunities through the Nord Anglia family of schools. One of the highlights is the annual Southeast Asia Performing Arts Festival, where students collaborate with talented peers from across the region in disciplines including orchestra, drama, jazz, choir and dance. These immersive experiences allow students to learn from specialist teachers, explore different artistic styles, build friendships across cultures and develop their confidence as performers. The festival culminates in a showcase performance celebrating creativity, teamwork and personal growth.
Together, the Juilliard collaboration and Nord Anglia performing arts experiences provide BIS Hanoi students with exceptional opportunities to develop as artists, learners and global citizens. By connecting students and teachers with world-leading expertise, these experiences bring learning to life and help ensure that the performing arts remain a vibrant, inspiring and transformative part of a BIS Hanoi education.
